Cloudflare Maintenance April 16-17: Chicago, Sydney, Amsterdam

Cloudflare announced scheduled maintenance across four major datacenters on April 16-17, 2026. Chicago (ORD) maintenance runs April 16 from 06:00-12:00 UTC, followed by Sydney (SYD) from 15:00-21:00 UTC the same day. Amsterdam (AMS) and Warsaw (WAW) datacenters will undergo maintenance April 17 from 00:00-04:00 UTC. Cloudflare warned that traffic will be rerouted from these locations during maintenance windows, potentially causing slight performance increases. The maintenance notices were published April 14, providing 48-hour advance warning.

Enterprise websites using Cloudflare may experience increased latency or slower response times during these maintenance windows, particularly for users geographically close to affected datacenters. E-commerce sites could see reduced conversion rates if page load times increase during peak traffic periods in these regions.

Cloudflare operates one of the world's largest CDN networks, serving millions of websites including major enterprise properties. Scheduled datacenter maintenance is routine but can impact website performance when multiple locations are affected simultaneously. The timing spans both US business hours and European overnight periods, potentially affecting global enterprise operations.

Review your Cloudflare analytics to identify traffic volume from Chicago, Sydney, Amsterdam, and Warsaw regions during the scheduled maintenance windows. Schedule any critical website launches, UAT sessions, or performance testing outside these timeframes. Monitor real user monitoring tools and synthetic transaction tests during maintenance periods to catch any performance degradation that could affect user experience or conversion rates.

Monitor Cloudflare's status page for any extensions or complications during the maintenance windows. Watch for performance alerts in your monitoring tools, particularly if your user base has significant traffic from the affected regions.
