My boss keeps undermining me

What happened

I have worked with my boss for a really long time. She has done a lot for me. We are even friends (although I’m trying to pull back on that). Our company is in layoff mode so I know she’s in a very protective mode right now but she can’t seem to just let me lead the projects! I have a small team of people I’m in charge of while she manages the higher-ups. But instead of giving me the updates to pass along, she just sends ALL of us the updates. She has done this in the past. As new projects come
