Cloudflare Scheduled Maintenance Hits 8 Global Data Centers

Cloudflare has scheduled maintenance across eight major data centers from April 17-27, 2026, affecting Sydney, Seattle, Minneapolis, Moscow, St. Louis, and two separate maintenance windows for Osaka, plus Seoul. The Sydney maintenance window is the longest at 16 hours (April 20-21), while most others range from 3-8 hours. Traffic will be automatically rerouted from affected locations during maintenance periods. The Sydney maintenance is currently in progress as of the latest status update.

Enterprise websites using Cloudflare may experience increased latency and slower response times during these maintenance windows, particularly for users in affected regions. E-commerce sites could see conversion rate drops if page load times increase significantly. Teams should prepare for potential performance degradation and have monitoring in place to detect issues.

Cloudflare operates one of the world's largest CDN networks, serving millions of websites including major enterprise properties. Scheduled maintenance across multiple data centers in a short timeframe is unusual and suggests either infrastructure upgrades or coordinated system updates. The geographic spread covers major business centers in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions.

Monitor your site performance closely during these maintenance windows using tools like GTmetrix, Pingdom, or your existing APM solution. Set up alerts for increased response times or error rates. If your site serves significant traffic from affected regions, consider temporarily adjusting cache settings or activating backup CDN configurations. Test critical user journeys immediately after each maintenance window completes.

Monitor Cloudflare's status page for any extensions or complications during the remaining maintenance windows. Watch for performance impacts on your sites during the upcoming Seattle (April 21), Minneapolis and Seoul (April 23), and final Osaka (April 27) maintenance periods.
